Kakharu Phula Bhaja

- 1 Iron or Non-Stick Tawa
Ingredients
- 10 pcs pumpkin blossoms(Kakharu Phula)
- 1 cup rice (Arua chaula)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 tsp Green Chilli (Kancha Lanka)
- 4 cloves garlic (rasuna)
- 1 tsp ginger (ada)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (haladi gunda)
- 2-3 tsp Cooking oil
- salt to taste (luna)
Instructions
- Soak rice in water for about half-an-hour.
- Remove the stem, ovary and all inner parts of pumpkin blossoms.
- Keep whole petal of each flower intact.
- Then wash them thoroughly.
- Then prepare the rice paste with soaked rice , cumin seeds, garlic, green chili and ginger with a small amount of water to a grinder/ mixer. Grind it to a coarse paste like dosa batter.
- Transfer the paste into a container and add turmeric powder and salt to taste, mix well. Keep it aside.
- Heat the iron tawa or non-stick tawa, Spread ro sprinkle little oil to the tawa.
- Dip the flowers one by one in the batter and sallow fry the flowers on medium flame.
- Sprinkle oil in the upper side of the flowers in the tawa.
- After one minute turn them upside down and fry.
- Allow all the flowers to turn golden brown and crispy.
- Your Kakharu Phula Bhaja is ready to be served as side dish
